Description
Tear-shaped outline. Thick handle has two grooves below; lower handle has flanking grooves and three single circles across base. Flat base has double almond-shaped grooves around incuse signature: ΧΙΟ ΝΗϹ (rounded serifs; eta-sigma ligature that extends over inner groove).
Fabric, firing, surface
Typical fabric, firing, and surface treatment for ware. Fabric: 2.5YR 6/4, light reddish brown. Slip: 7.5YR 6/4, light brown. Slight, dull slip as wash preserved across surface but worn.
Preservation description
Two joining fragments preserve entire base and lower handle. Heavy, widespread abrasion with pitting; worn breaks; slight film to patches of encrustation.
