Description
Circular, concave, plain discus has two raised, concentric circles, inner wider than outer. Rounded shoulder has five even rows of small points. Vertical band handle attached from upper rim to lower wall. This type has heavy lug on left side and elongated flat nozzle with flaring termination.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 2.5YR 7/6, yellow. Slip: 7.5YR 4/4, brown, but fired darker in places. Somewhat soft, fine fabric with mostly smooth break; rare to uncommon, poorly sorted, small to medium, white (lime) and rare, sub angular, gray and red inclusions; faintly micaceous(?). Thin, somewhat even, semilustrous slip, flaky, preserved in grooves and around handle. Italian: central?
Preservation description
Two joining fragments preserve ca. 33% of shoulder, small part of upper handle, and roughly 25% of discus. Slight, extensive abrasion with pitting; worn breaks; scattered specks of encrustation.
