Bronze wire. Thin wire with oval to rectangular section in middle but narrow and flatter toward ends. Curves in even, almost square arc with one or both ends flaring out at right angle. Three semicircular protrusions on outside edge are distorted by corrosion but appear to be decorative scalloping. A horizontal swing handle from a small cup, pail, or box?
Preservation description
Segment of wire, broken at both ends, preserves over three-quarters of handle. Slight pitting; slight to moderate bronze disease.
