Description
Flat base; bevel on exterior. Nearly vertical wall. Horizontal rim with rounded lip; groove on top of rim near edge. Round, horizontal handle crudely attaches to underside of rim, sloping up to meet lip. Wall lacks ridging. Mottled slip on interior and onto rim.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 5YR 7/6, reddish yellow. Slip: 10R 5/6, red to 5YR 5/6, yellowish red. Somewhat soft, smooth, fine fabric with rare mica and rare, small, rounded, white inclusions. Thin, dull slip, flaky, preserved in large patches. Corinthian buff utilitarian ware.
Preservation description
Nine joining fragments preserve entire base, ca. 75% of body, 75% of rim, and one handle.
