Description
Flaring false ring foot with bevel on outer face; button on underside. Ovoid body with maximum diameter below midpoint. Band of corrugation on middle to upper body. Elongated neck; flaring rim with concave outer face to small, pointed, overhanging lip. Strap handle spliced on one side attaches at rim and middle of body. Painted decoration: two large loops opening upward on either side from lower body to outside lip.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 5YR 7/6, reddish yellow. Paint: 2.5YR 6/6, light red. Somewhat hard, smooth, fine fabric with frequent to common golden mica and very small, rounded, white inclusions. Dull, thick paint added in uneven, broad strokes.
Preservation description
Intact. Small hole in lower body. Slight, sparse pitting; very slight, very sparse specks of encrustation.
