Thin-Walled "Phocaean" Mug
Description
Flat base. Globular body. Stacking line just above foot; trimming on lower body. Vertical to flaring, slightly concave rim deeply offset with small band just below and rounded lip. Loop handle, unevenly round in section.
Fabric, firing, surface
5YR 6/4, light reddish brown. Exterior reduced. Material typical for ware.
Preservation comment
Nine joining fragments preserve most of body but over half of handle is missing. Chipping on rim and body; thick patch of encrustation on one side.
