Description
Flat base, worn. Crude articulation of base and lower wall. Ovoid body with maximum diameter just above midpoint and below shoulder. Four bands of irregular incised grooving extend from point of maximum diameter to just below neck. Lower part of body plain; some shallow, irregular wheel ridging. Straight, cylindrical neck with irregular sharp, ridge just above articulation with shoulder. Neck rises to everted rim with rounded lip. Crooked strap handle with pronounced central spine. Somewhat sloppy attachments to body at maximum diameter, over and obscuring the lowest two decorative bands, and to neck below lip.
Fabric, firing, surface
7.5YR 7/6, reddish yellow. Hard, smooth, fine fabric with few small, subrounded, white and brown inclusions and very few, subangular, white inclusions. Faint traces of string-cutting.
Preservation comment
Almost intact, but missing ca. 50% of neck and rim. Slight, extensive encrustation, including one large patch.
