Description
Very low false ring base; shallow tooling. Globular body, knife-trimmed. Cylindrical neck rises from tapering shoulder. Outward-thickened rim with rounded lip showing two grooves on outer face. Spined strap handle attaches to body at maximum diameter and just below lip. Dip-slipped.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 5YR 7/4, pink. Slip: 5YR 5/4, reddish brown. Hard, smooth, fine fabric, flaking at surface, with very rare to rare, well-sorted inclusions: very small, rounded, white (lime), tiny red bits, and medium, subangular, gray and brown particles. Thick, even, semilustrous slip preserved down to sharp dipping line on body at maximum diameter.
Preservation description
Almost intact but missing <25% of body. Moderate erosion along breaks, slight flaking and pitting.
