Dressel 2-4 Italian Amphora
Description
Cylindrical neck, tapering slightly to midpoint. Flaring, outward-thickened rim with rounded lip. Bifid handles attach to upper neck.
Fabric, firing, surface
2.5YR 7/6, light red. Hard, sandy fabric with common, poorly sorted, small, white and red inclusions. Italian.
Preservation description
One large fragment preserves entire neck and rim and upper part of both handles. Slight chipping; slight, extensive encrustation.
