Description
Arcing strap handle, elliptical in section, broken from upper neck of amphora. Impressed rectangular panel on top bears stamp of Knidian origin in raised letters: ἐπὶ Διογέ|νευς Δημ|ύλου Κνίδιο[ν] (inverted anchor?) (“Knidian product of Dem(o)ulos, under Diogenes“).
Fabric, firing, surface
5YR 6/6, reddish yellow. Material typical for ware. Cf. KP122 and KP124.
Preservation description
One large fragment preserves ca. 33% of upper handle. Slight, extensive abrasion; worn breaks; slight, extensive encrustation.
