Form falls between Slane’s small, round-mouth pitcher and narrow-neck pitcher: see, e.g., CorinthXVIII.2, pp. 101, 104, 105, nos. 220, 221, fig. 26 (Demeter and Kore).
Description
Ovoid body(?), conical toward shoulder. Cylindrical, slightly convex neck. Everted rim with pointed lip, bevel on inside and raised band on outside. Oval strap handle attaches to shoulder and just under lip.
Fabric, firing, surface
10R 4/1, dark reddish gray. Regional cooking fabric.
Preservation description
One fragment preserves 66% of rim and small part of neck. Four more nonjoining sherds from neck and shoulder likely represent the same vessel. Slight, sparse encrustation.
