Forlimpopoli Amphora
Description
Ovoid(?) body tapering downward. Concave base, thickened at center, with collar on outer face. Shallow corrugation across surface.
Fabric, firing, surface
7.5 YR 7/6, reddish yellow. Hard, medium-fine fabric with frequent, large mica, common, small, white inclusions, and few small, black flecks. Very thin, even, dull wash, more pale than fabric, slightly pink.
Preservation description
One large fragment preserves entire base and ca. 50% of lower body. Slight chipping around bottom and gouging; very slight, sparse encrustation.
