Description
Laconian-style covertile. Low arch and slightly incurved margin.
Fabric, firing, surface
Orangish red with faint darker red firing cloud across surface. Slightly soft, moderately coarse fabric with granular break and somewhat powdery texture. Infrequent, poorly sorted, small, limestone and iron oxide chunks, tiny gray bits; rare irregular porosities. Greek but not regional: Megarid? Attica?
Preservation description
One large sherd preserves one edge. Extensive, slight abrasion and erosion, with pitting and flaking; worn breaks; weathering consistent with prolonged marine submersion.
