Description
Laconian-style pantile or (less likely) Corinthian-style rounded imbrex. Slightly thickened at upper/lower edge. Faint linear striations on upper side, which is also somewhat smoother.
Fabric, firing, surface
Reddish yellow. Somewhat hard, moderately fine fabric with smooth to splintery break. Uncommon, well sorted, small calcareous bits and rare, mixed, tiny bits. Corinthian.
Preservation description
One large fragment preserves one edge. Extensive, moderate abrasion and erosion with deep pitting and gouging; somewhat worn and clean breaks(?); widespread, severe encrustation from prolonged marine submersion.
