(June, 2003) Floral/faunal growth and dark staining removed from the surface of the preserved letters in situ using demineralized water and algicide . One small detached fragment collected from site at that time.(Florence Monier and Rui Nunes Pedroso)
Description
Circular outline and flat shoulder.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 7.5YR 8/6, reddish yellow but with faint pinkish hue. Early/Middle Roman Corinthian lamp fabric, pale: fine, somewhat hard.
Preservation description
One small fragment preserves less than one-quarter of rim and body. Moderate, extensive abrasion and pitting; thin, extensive encrustation.
