Fabric, firing, surface
Pink with tinge of orange; consistently fired; orangish red slip, thin, matte, somewhat uneven, painted and dripped(?) over rim and down wall. Hard, very fine; smooth break and surface. Rare, tiny lime bits; fequent silvery micaceous sparkles. Trimming marks on lower wall. Typical fabric, firing, and surface treatment for Pontic Sigillata A (Tauric Chersonese).
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves 5-8% of rim and large part of wall down almost to base. Very slight, sparse scratchting; worn breaks; scattered small specks of encrustation and sparse black splotches (postdepositional).
