Fabric, firing, surface
Pale brown with a tinge of orange, fired to grayish brown with a tinge of purple at the exterior surface (>1mm). Slightly soft, fine; smooth break, with rough exterior surface texture but vaguely soapy interior. Uncommon to common, small, mostly white and few dark bits; common small flecks of golden and silver mica. Classic Ephesian.
Preservation comment
21 sherds, including two joining sherds from upper part, preserves entire rim and neck, handle, and large part of handle and body. Slight, sparse abrasion and etching from vegetation; worn breaks; faint, thin, discontinuous film of encrustation.
