Hellenistic Moldmade Bowl (“Megarian Bowl“)
Description
Hemispherical bowl with molded relief on wall to base and high, plain rim with slightly everted lip. Wall: one register with bare-chested male standing left, carrying scepter/staff(?) in left arm and right arm outstretched (cf. Poseidon in Ke0051+0401+1496-P0017+0094+0392), facing another uncertain figure; intervening bucrania with hanging garlands in dots. Rim: band of simple guilloche framed by double bands.
Preservation description
Two joining sherds preserve small segment of rim and upper to middle body. Moderate, extensive abrasion and minor scoring; worn breaks; thin, faint patches of encrustation in molded relief.
