Fabric, firing, surface
Typical Late Roman Attic lamp fabric (orangish red), firing, and surface treatment. Smoothed seam and alignment at back of handle.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves ca. 35% of lamp, including roughly one-quarter of middle to back left discus and shoulder, entire handle, roughly one-third of wall, and roughly one-half of middle to back base. Slight, extensive abrasion and slight chipping around edges; somewhat worn breaks; and numerous specks to patches of encrustation in relief.
