Description
Amphora. Rounded shoulder. Red dipinto in large letters across upper shoulder up to turn to neck.
Fabric, firing, surface
Pale red to pink, fired more buff on exterior surface (2-3mm). Slightly coarse, hard; smooth to slightly granular break, with bumpy surface texture. Rare to uncommon, tiny to small, white, red, and mostly black bits; tiny sparkles at surface; rare, very small, rounded(?) voids. Wet smoothing. Eastern Cilician.
Preservation comment
Four joining sherds preserve large part of upper body and shoulder at turn to neck. Slight to moderate, extensive abrasion with some erosion, minor chipping and pitting, rare gouging; worn breaks.
