Fabric, firing, surface
Dark orangish red. Hard, slightly coarse fabric with mostly smooth break; uncommon, small, well sorted, inclusions, mostly subangular, including few red to brown, rare dark gray (somewhat larger), most white (calcareous), including rarely larger white bits opening at surface. Unrefined Athenian. Thick, mostly even, matte slip, brownish red with a tinge of purple, survives in large patches.
Preservation description
Top half of lamp above seam survives, missing front of nozzle. Slight, sparse abrasion, with minor nicking and scoring; mostly clean break; small thin, faint patches of encrustation on discus.
