Description
Large pitcher. Spherical upper body. Vertical handle rises from shoulder (traces of attachment). Two spaced grooves with rouletting or hashmarks at turn from body to shoulder.
Fabric, firing, surface
Pale red. Consistently fired, hard; fine, smooth break; surface has patches that are polished very smooth (burnished). Very rare, tiny, white and dark (red to brown) bits; rare elongated cavities in break. Southern Greek?
Preservation description
One large sherd preserves part of middle to lower wall. Slight, sparse abrasion with rare pitting and scoring; worn breaks; thin, sparse patches of encrustation.
