Conservation
1960s: mended with natural shellac.
Description
Rounded lower body. No foot; resting surface has wide, deep scraped groove around central depression with small nipple. On floor, central panel with relief of comic mask (old man or slave? satyr?); three small perforations. Black glazed on all surfaces.
Preservation description
Two joining sherds preserve entire base and part of lower body. Slight, sparse abrasion especially around edges and appliqué and pitting, with slightly flaking slip; worn breaks; no visible encrustation.
