Explanation of deposition
Gradual natural accumulation of sediment that contains residual earlier material and material representing activity on northeast central slope throughout Roman era.
Colluvium over calcified mudstone bedrock exposed around dromos of Tomb 10 and west and south of Building C1.
Soil matrix
Light yellowish brown (10YR 6/4–2.5YR 6/3), moderately compact, very fine silt to silty sand with sparse, small pebble inclusions (<1–2 cm range) but occasional pockets of cobbles (2–5+ cm range).
Stratigraphic associations
TRC0701-005 [around dromos tomb 10] = (TRC0806-004 + TRC0806-005) [south of Building C1] = ((TRC0807-003 = TRC0807-004 = TRC0807-005) = (TRC0807-013 + TRC0807-014)) [west of Building C1].
