- Description
- Dish with flat base or tiny ring foot, low curving wall, and plain, rounded lip marked inside by a groove. Coarse fabric with inconsistent slip inside and over lip; spiral-burnishing on floor. Somewhat common Early Byzantine form. Bonifay distinguishes three subtypes. 109A: rounded lip and relatively thick walls. 109B: overall shorter, sometimes flattened rim and relatively thin walls, with slip-painted concentric bands. 109C: tiny ring-foot and rim formed as flattened triangle.
