- Description
- Bowl with low, tapering foot, rounded wall, and heavy, rolled rim. Offset at outer edge of floor, usually bearing stamp or grooves. Three subtypes (A-C) distinguished by width of base, angle of wall, heft of rim, decoration of floor, and relative coarseness of fabric. Common Late Roman-Early Byzantine form: signature type of the workshop at Oudhna (anc. Uthina) southwest of Tunis.
