Description
Circular outline. Circular, concave discus has central filling hole with wide, flat framing ring, rays, and flat framing ring with deep outer groove. Wide, flat shoulder with sharp rim has small ovules. Raised kite-shaped nozzle with traces of burning. Low handle with two grooves attaches at discus rim and close to base.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Middle Roman Athenian(?) lamp fabric: fine, hard, very small, uncommon, subrounded white and mostly black inclusions. Thin, matte, even wash, slightly darker than fabric.
Preservation comment
Two joining fragment preserve over half of discus and shoulder and nearly entire handle. Slight, sparse abrasion.
