Wide circular outline. Circular, concave discus has traces of figural relief at top and two rounded framing rings. Reconstruct relief as Athena Promachos facing left. Slightly rounded shoulder has double rows of globules separated by ridges. Small ring handle with three grooves attaches at discus rim. Excess clay along seam next to handle.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/8, light red. Middle Roman Athenian lamp fabric: somewhat soft and slightly grtty with voids. Unslipped.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves small part of handle, less than one quarter of rim, and upper handle. Irregular, slight, sparse abrasion, extensive flaking and pitting on shoulder around handle; slight, somewhat extensive patches of encrustation across top.
