- Description
- Tear-shaped outline. Tear-shaped, concave discus has large filling hole center top with single, thin framing ring, irregular relief, and distinctly raised, rounded rim. Relief of (moving out from filling hole) occasional thin ridges, field of small raised dots, thicker ridge with trident or crowsfoot motif on outer edge, thick ridge extending around discus from back, and single row of diagonal rays with terminating globules between outer ridge and distinct rim. Wide, sloping shoulder linear ridges arching outward and forward and terminate in small circles. Tall, solid, fin-like handle with thick base attaches over back of discus and bends slightly right. All details and forms are irregular. Slight joining ridge and very slight webbing.
- Fabric, firing, and surface description
- Fabric: 5YR 7/4, pink. Hard, consistently fired, somewhat fine fabric has rare, small, subangular, white (calcitic) inclusions and small voids opening at surface. Not a Late Antique Corinthian fabric: Argive? cf. KTH0111.
- Preservation comment
- One fragment preserves less than one quarter of discus, less than one quarter of rim, and handle above seam. Slight chipping around edges.
