2023 (July): Sherds refitted with clear synthetic resin (UHU).
Description
Flanged bowl. Squat, thick-walled body curves upward from foot to wide, blocky flange with deep undercutting. Vertical rim with plain, thick, pointed lip.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Light red, fine fabric with rare, small, calcareous inclusions visible in breaks, very rare tiny bits, and rare golden micaceous flakes. Darker semimatte slip, quite thin on interior, with brush marks; thinner, less smoothed, with drip marks on exterior.
Preservation comment
Three joining sherds preserve 60% of rim and over one half of wall, but base entirely missing. Extensive, slight abrasion and large chips from rim; slightly worn breaks; thin, faint patchy film of encrustation on walls and bowl but thick patches on bottom. Slip worn, particularly on flange, but largely present.
