Description
High, vertical neck. Thickened, lentoid rim, slightly everted but scarcely distinct from neck, with sharp upper lip. Oval handle springs upward from neck below rim.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 5YR 6/8, reddish yellow. Slightly coarse, hard fabric with mostly smooth to vaguely conchoidal break but delaminating at surface. Occasional medium, rounded, calcareous chunks visible in break and on surface; other small to tiny bits varying from light to dark. Uneven, thin wash on all extant surfaces, slightly more pale than fabric. Corinthian.
Preservation comment
Five joining sherds preserve complete rim, over one half of neck with upper attachment of one handle, and initial turn to shoulder where bottom of neck extant. Extensive, slight abrasion and flaking erosion in one large patch on upper neck; slightly worn breaks; rare specks and patchy cloud of encrustation.
