Wide plate. Flat floor; very low ring base with pointed resting surface but rounded on both face. Perhaps low curving walls.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Very fine fabric fired to consistent pale brownish-red. Uncommon small, dark, angular bits, many visible flattened on underside; rare tiny dark bits visible in break; micaceous. Slip is slightly darker and redder than fabric where best preserved, though distinctly lighter and more brown than typical Phocaean Red-Slip. In its original state slip was very well smoothed. Underside is essentially plain with brush marks. Central or southern Greek?
Preservation comment
One sherd preserving ca. 5% of base and small part of lower wall. Slip is worn on interior but preserves original well-smoothed surface in patches. Slight chipping around edges; somewhat worn breaks; wide areas of thin, patchy brownish white encrustation.
