Description
Circular, concave discus surrounded by raised band. Somewhat narrow, rounded shoulder has ovules. This format typically has figural relief on discus, a small, rounded nozzle, and a grooved ring handle.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale pink fabric, consistently fired; fine, hard; vaguely granular break; very rare, isolated lime specks; no visible mica. Thick, somewhat uneven slip fired reddish orange but mottled with thickness, semilustrous with metallic sheen. Asia Minor; Knidian?
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves ca. 30% of lateral shoulder and very small part of adjacent discus. Slight, sparse abrasion, pitting, and scratching; mostly clean breaks.
