Description
Amphora. Rounded shoulder. Graffito of large Greek letters in deep strokes, incised after firing, across shoulder.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale red fabric with a tinge of orange, consistently fired. Fine, medium hard; mostly smooth break. Very rare, ting black bits; very rare, small, subrounded, lime chunks; faintly micaceous at surface; rare, small, rounded and small elongated voids at surface. Finely smoothed but sparse turning scratches.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves part of upper wall to shoulder. Overall good condition; rare scratching and slightly worn breaks.
