Description
Some interior scratching from use.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Orange fabric with a faint tinge of red; slightly soft, fine; smooth to laminar break; uncommon, tiny, white (including limestone or calcite) and black bits; rare tiny micaceous sparkles. Thin, matte slip over all surfaces, variable in thickness, fired to darker red and mottled; peeling in large flakes inside. Slight turning scratches on lower body and smoothing marks on upper body (above carination). Western Asia Minor but not Pergamene, Ephesian, or Knidian.
Preservation comment
Two joining fragments preserve complete vessel. Slight to moderate, somewhat extensive abrasion and chipping and flaking around edges; mostly clean breaks; no visible encrustation (but cleaned).
