Fabric, firing, and surface description
Red with a tinge of orange; somewhat hard, fine fabric with smooth break; rare, poorly sorted, lime specks and dark gray to black bits. Yellowish white fired slightly darker at surface. Somewhat hard, slightly gritty fabric; smooth to vaguel hackly break. Common tiny bits, poorly sorted, including subrounded lime and rarer gray and black. Even, thin, pale white wash as undercoat?; even, semiglossy glaze, thicker in grooves, bright white, over whole vessel but bottom reserved. Swirls in brown and green thinly painted. Faint turning grooves on interior and exterior; base is irregular.
Preservation comment
Two joining sherds preserve entire cup. Slight, sparse abrasion and large chips from lip; clean breaks; scattered specks to patches of encrustation.
