Description
Amphora with cylindrical body, broad ridging on outside, and strong turn to low sloping shoulder. Red dipinto in large letters at turn from upper body to shoulder.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale reddish orange; exterior surface fired buff (2 mm). Medium fine, hard; slightly hackly break. Common, well sorted, tiny to small, subrounded and subangular white, gray, red, and black inclusions; faintly golden micaceous; rare small rounded and small elongated voids.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves part of upper body and turn to shoulder. Slight, extensive abrasion with minor scratching; worn breaks; thin, scattered, small patches of encrustation.
