Description
Amphora. Steep conical neck. Graffito of large Greek letters in shallow stokes, reading top down, inscribed after firing: ΡΙΖ
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Orange red fabric, firing slightly more red at surface. Somewhat coarse, medium hard; granular break. Uncommon, small, mostly rounded but also angular, white and subangular dark gray to black inclusions; no visible mica. Finely smoothed exterior.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves part of neck up from turn to shoulder. Slight, somewhat extensive abrasion across surface with rare scratching; worn breaks.
