- Description
- Exterior wall curves down seamlessly to form base, which is offset to form lower face of flat floor. This form of base is found on early/mid-1st-century CE vessels, such as Hayes Forms 14 through 17. Circular stamp in center of floor: rosette with nine petals.
- Fabric, firing, and surface description
- The only salient aspect of the fabric that survives marine exposure unchanged is presence of frequent small micaceous bits that are visible in direct sunlight. Otherwise, fabric and slip all discolored to pale pink.
- Preservation comment
- One sherd preserves full circumference of base and small part of lowermost wall. Slight, sparse abrasion and scratching; somewhat worn breaks. Slip does not survive due to long marine submersion, and fabric turned to very pale pink.
