Material and design indicate Corinthian/regional imitation of North African lamp but care and order indicates very early in that series.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Typical Late Roman Corinthian lamp fabric (very pale reddish yellow, fine, rare tiny white calcitic inclusions), firing (hard, consistent), and surface treatment (thin, uneven, semimatte slip that flakes in places, slightly darker than fabric to purplish brown in deep grooves). Carefully smoothed surface and very clean seam.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves ca. 25% from top front left part of lamp, including small part of discus and channel, over one-third of left shoulder, and small part of shoulder. Moderate, extensive abrasion and rare chipping; worn breaks; sparse, thick patches of encrustation in relief.
