Flat shoulder has panel with herringbone in relief. Plain nozzle flanked by two angled grooves and two single circles at top. Solid handle has two grooves above seem. Flat base has two almond-shaped grooves around simple leaf and two circles above flanking base of handle. All details blunt. Distinct seem with small shelf and webbing.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Late Roman Corinthian “white“ fabric (pinkish buff but slightly more pale at surface; platy fracture; rare, small white calcitic inclusions), firing, and surface (somewhat rough and uneven). Clean seam but slight misalignment at handle.
Preservation comment
Three joining sherds preserve ca. 75% of lamp but missing middle to right top and front of lamp. Moderate, extension erosion and abrasion and slight flaking and chipping; worn breaks; thin but extensive film of encrustation.
