Description
Tear-shaped(?) outline. Circular discus has central filling hole and relief: rosette of 16 petals twisted clockwise; uneven. Flat shoulder framed by rounded rims has wavy lines marked on interior rim by six small single incuse circles. One airhole at back of nozzle flanked by small single incuse circles.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Middle-Late Roman Attic fabric (pale reddish brown; fine, tiny white, gray, and black inclusions, clean fracture), firing (hard), and surface (thin, even, matte slip, light brown with a tinge of red).
Preservation comment
One large fragment preserves nearly entire discus from front of handle to back ot nozzle, with ca. 65% of shoulder. Slightly worn breaks; otherwise surface is in good condition.
