Description
Amphora with low sloping shoulder. Wide, shallow combing on exterior. Graffito of Greek letters in shallow, thin strokes inscribed after firing, across shoulder: ΣΛΑ[ ]
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale orange to pink fabric, fired consistently faintly more buff on exterior. Hard, fine; smooth break. Rare, well sorted, tiny mixed bits, including black, and rare, small, angular white particles; very rare, small, elongated voids; no visible mica. Finely smoothed outside surface.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves part of upper body and shoulder near base of neck. Slight, sparse abrasion with minor scratching and chipping; worn breaks; faint, scattered patches of white discoloration (calcareous?).
