Description
Type of lion leaping left. Late copy from western model: note filled in blob where small hole is usually located.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: pink; somewhat soft; slightly gritty texture and slightly granular break; very rare, small, well sorted, subrounded, white inclusions and very rare, mixed, tiny bits; micaceous. Consistent firing. Slip: orangish red slip; thin, even, semilustrous; somewhat flakey.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves ca. 35% of lamp, including central to right discus, right shoulder, and most of nozzle. Slight, extensive abrasion and pitting; worn breaks; faint cloud of gray discoloration.
