Middle/Late Roman Athenian lamp, early glazed
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: brownish red; hard, slight gritty with slightly granular break; uncommon, small, well sorted, subangular, white, black, and dark (red-brown?) inclusions; rare, small voids. Consistent firing? Surface: thin, even, matte slip.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves ca. 25% from lower front part of lamp, including small part of base and most of lower nozzle with adjacent wall. Slight, extensive abrasion and slight gouging; worn breaks.
