Description
Amphora. Rounded shoulder. Red dipinto in large letters across upper shoulder up to turn to neck.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale red to pink, more buff on exterior surface; consistently fired. Very fine, hard; smooth to slightly granular break. Very rare, tiny, white and black bits; numerous tiny golden mica visible on surface; rare, very small, rounded(?) voids. Kenchreai RC22? Wet smoothing.
Preservation comment
Four joining sherds preserve large part of upper body and shoulder at turn to neck. Slight to moderate, extensive abrasion with some erosion, minor chipping and pitting, rare gouging; worn breaks.
