sim. AgoraVII, p. 146, nos. 1544, 1552, pl. 28 (same format but lightly earlier unglazed forms; J. Perlzweig)
Description
Rounded outline. Concave discus has rays, surrounded by raised rim. Flat, outward sloping shoulder has vine and grape cluster. Large, heavy loop handle has three grooves above seam.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Typical fabric (mostly fine, pale red with slightly more reddish core), firing, and surface treatment (thick, even, semimatte, deep reddish slip). Cleanly smoothed seam. Small plug of clay in handle hole left before firing.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves small part of discus, small part of back of shoulder, and entire handle above seem. Slight, somewhat extensive abrasion and wear minor chipping around edges; mostly clean breaks; small, scattered specks of encrustation.
