Fabric, firing, surface
Orangish red. Somewhat hard, consistently fired fabric; slightly fine; smooth to hackly break. Uncommon, tiny to small, varied inclusions, both white (calcareous?) and red or brown, dark gray to black. Pale red, thin, even, mostly matte slip with vaguely lustrous sheen; thin overpainting of spirals in white fired dark gray.
Preservation description
Three joining sherds preserve 23% of rim, one entire handle, and small part of body below flange. Extensive, slight to moderate abrasion with pitting and incipient erosion; very worn breaks; irregular white saline film across all surfaces. Weathering consistent with marine submersion.
