Description
Amphora with heavy construction. Cylindrical neck. Red dipinto on lower neck.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale reddish yellow, slightly more pink at surface; consistently fired. Fine, hard; smooth break, vaguely conchoidal in places. Rare, somewhat clustered, tiny to small, angular white and black inclusions; very red (a few), medium, rounded red (iron oxide?) and white (lime) particles at surface; small, subangular voids.
Preservation comment
Four joining sherds preserve roughly 30% of neck from articulation with shoulder up toward rim. Very slight abrasion, with rare scratching and chipping; mostly clean breaks.
