Description
Comic mask. Large eyes, arched eyebrows, furrowed forehead.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Red clay. Semiglossy, thick, uneven reddish brown slip. Patch of dark discoloration from differential firing. Early/Middle Roman Athenian coroplastic fabric?
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves small part of eye, eyebrow, and forehead. Frequent, somewhat slight abrasion, flaking, pitting, and rare gouging; worn breaks.
